Frequently Asked Questions About Nut Pastes, Dessert Creams and Tahini

Question 1

What are stone-ground nut pastes?

Accepted Answer

Stone-ground nut pastes are produced by gradually grinding nuts between stone wheels. This process releases the nuts’ natural oils and creates a smooth, homogeneous consistency.

Question 2

What is the difference between a nut paste and a nut cream?

Accepted Answer

A nut paste is generally built primarily around nuts and may be unsweetened. A dessert nut cream may additionally contain sugar, cocoa, milk, fruit, coconut or other ingredients depending on the recipe.

Question 3

Do Beyoğlu nut pastes contain preservatives, palm oil or cottonseed oil?

Accepted Answer

We do not use preservatives, palm oil or cottonseed oil in Beyoğlu nut paste and cream recipes. Exact ingredients vary by product and should be checked on the individual product page and packaging.

Question 4

Do Beyoğlu nut creams contain lecithin?

Accepted Answer

Some dessert nut creams may use lecithin to support even fat distribution and texture stability. The exact ingredient list and lecithin source are stated on the individual product page and packaging.

Question 5

Why can natural nut pastes separate?

Accepted Answer

Nuts and sesame naturally contain oils. In products without stabilisation, some oil may rise to the surface over time. This is a natural physical process, and the product should be stirred thoroughly before use.

Is tahini a nut paste?

Accepted Answer
